Give To Me Straight - I Can Take It!

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Did this web site for a client. They provided the copy, I did the design and coding.

Next step in the project is to make the copy friendlier to search engines, and tighten it up so it's more "scannable" for a web audience.

But in the meantime, any thoughts?

    Dave,

Your site looks GREAT in firefox 1.0.5 and Opera 8.01. I like the fact that you used XHTML Strict :). I also LOVE the MacOSX style shadows on the boxes.

Clean code, and fast loading, but there are a few small tiny problems:

    * The home page should not link to itself.

    * You might want to change the picture of either the services page or the home page. This is because when I clicked on the page it changed so quickly I didn't even notice it and thought to myself "dam this is taking ages to load" when in fact it had already changed!!!!

    * You could possibly have the same picture but just have the people in a different order, like the blond woman in front on one of them, and if you add any other pages maybe have the African American man in front etc etc.

    * And one last thing, the home page has a tiny bit to much text on it for my liking.

All and all, it is a very cool site.

    Have a nice day

    Nice, clean design but ...

... too much text and not enough visual interest -- and no banana.

Get a copy of Seth Godin's "The Big Red Fez." For something less than $10 you will get a great perspective on what makes for a good website ... and an explanation of the "banana" comment.
