Product Placement / Celebrity Endorsement Desired

Posted by Billd724 on 100 Points
I have a client who has a client . . . who is seeking some help in getting their product placed in:
• a movie or television show
• that would appeal to American females, ages 8 -15.

Also, if anyone has an ability to connect with any female celebrity in this target age group, it would be most appreciated.

The client's products are being sold through retail outlets such as Wal-Mart, etc. So it's real. But, they'd like to know if there are any additional ways to reach their target market via
• product placements, and/or
• celebrity endorsements

If you have any interest -- pecuniary or altruistic -- in helping this client to achieve either outcome above . . . please contact me and I'll be glad to provide more details.

Thanks,

Bill

    Bill:

The forum may not be the best place for you to find a celebrity connection, but if you provided a better idea of the type of product and/or its usage, we could provide a few suggestions as far as who may be suitable. I know a few girls in that age range, they have definite ideas about who they'd buy from...or not!

    Good luck, Debi

    Debi --

I never underestimate the power of a collective such as we have here on MarketingProfs.com!

That said, perhaps this will help:
Miss O and Friends . . . is and has been public since April 1, 2005. The first products, back to school stationary items < https://www.missoandfriends.com/misso/stuff/index.php >, are currently available in Staples and Office Depot stores and should be available in K Mart and other stores for the fall back-to-school time.

More info on the company can be found here < https://www.missoandfriends.com/company/index.php >. You can see some of the coverage the company has received by looking here < https://www.missoandfriends.com/company/press/index.php > and here < https://www.missoandfriends.com/company/press/coverage.php >

I hope this helps. Thank you.

Coming from the UK, I am not in a position to name any young female american stars! But once you have your list, you could send them free samples and ask for their thoughts!

Also consider the "IT" girls out there, wouldn't someone like Paris Hilton like to get her face and name into all these stores .. or anywhere for that matter!

Andrei: Your posts are in the wrong place. You are not addressing the question being asked, and you are undoubtedely alienating the very audience you are trying to reach.

Billd724: I've been involved with several celebrity endorsements and product placement projects, and both have become quite sophisticated (and costly).

You need to look at Q-Scores to see which celebrities are most believable and recognizable to your target audience. Then you need an advertising agency who can approach the selected celebrity's agent and negotiate the endorsement deal. (Start by visiting www.qscores.com .)

For product placement, there are companies that handle those, and they're pretty good at what they do. Usually they charge an up-front fee, plus a performance bonus of some kind. Again, your advertising agency should be able to put you in touch with a product placement firm.

Neither of these areas are suitable for amateurs any more.

I'm indebted to each of you . . . this was more of a request for help in finding a connection of value than an expert insight. But, as usual, this forum has been so response-able and generous.

I hope your kindness in taking the time to share is returned to each of you in many wonderful ways in the coming days.

    Thank you.

    Bill
