Well in New Zealand it cost more than an IPOD and it has less storage. I really dont see how it can compete.

If it came in a 20Gb ( Apple stopped selling the 20Gb ipod) size and cost $200 then i would kick Ipods ass, but it is 15Gb and costs $600.

What was there creative launch stategy? Can you tell me or give me a link?

In the UK, I can buy the 4GB Ipod for £140 or the 5gb Micro for £170'ish.

The Micro is packed with more features (Built in Radio, built in microphone, apparently better quality than the ipod, better touchpad! and I understand easier to use software).

I think on the better spec (but higher price) alone they are onto a winner, and they have the advantage over one of the market elements of the marketing mix ... Place!

Here is the UK its difficult to go out and get an ipod, everywhere has sold out, Creative has flooded the market, so I think its going to be a top seller.

They will find it difficult to break into the brand and awareness space that ipod has won, but they will take some of the share away.

It would be interested to see how creative are positioning themselves against apple, my guess is that they are going for the higher features, the look of the micro is similar.

    Hope this helps
