You've heard it before: It's all about the content! And yet, so much of the content we see online is poorly written, difficult to navigate, or irrelevant to our immediate needs.
For it to be effective, Web content must be easy to find and impossible to ignore. Whether you're responsible for writing Web content yourself or you manage teams who need to produce content, you can make the most of this all-powerful medium by mastering the skills of customer-focused, actionable Web writing. Get the secrets to creating useful, usable content that inspires customer trust and motivates immediate action.
Erin Anderson is Director of Creative Services at Brain Traffic.
The fact that Erin dropped out of grad school to become the first Brain Traffic employee in 2005 proves either her overwhelming passion for Web content or her love-hate relationship with ramen noodles. The jury's still out, but it depends on the project. And the brand of noodles.
In any case, Erin started writing for websites in 2002. Her first gig for a local design-build firm involved touring newly renovated homes and composing Web-friendly remodeling stories. Since then, she's led the charge on writing projects for dozens of Fortune 100 companies.
Before entering the fast-paced world of interactive marketing, Erin worked as an editor and freelance writer for publications like Utne Reader and City Pages. Of course, this was back when "online publishing" meant copying and pasting articles into HTML. So really, she's been writing for the Web (wait, no: "the 'Net") since the late 90sÖ
