Despite the availability of other tools like messaging, email is Gen Z's top choice for workplace communication, according to recent research from ZeroBounce.
The report was based on data from a survey of nearly 1,400 Gen Z workers (born between 1997 and 2012) in Canada, Europe, and the United States.
Some 42% of respondents say email is their favorite communication tool for professional purposes, compared with 20% who say apps, such as Slack, are their favorite.
Gen Z workers say the most confusing things about using email at work are figuring out how formal to be (57% cite it as an issue) and when to follow up (51%).
Some 35% of respondents say AI tools make email management somewhat more efficient.
Most (53%) respondents say they sign off on their emails with a simple "Thanks."
