Marketers say AI proficiency is the top skillset they plan to prioritize when hiring for their email marketing teams this year, according to recent research from Litmus.

The report was based on data from a survey of 502 marketing professionals in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Some 35% of respondents say they plan to prioritize AI and machine learning application skills when hiring for their email marketing teams in 2026.

Some 44% of respondents say they expect more than half of their email marketing operations to be AI-driven by the end of 2026.

Respondents say AI has been most impactful on their email marketing programs when it comes to generating content, personalizing content, and analyzing performance.
