Are younger Americans using AI significantly more than older Americans? Are certain platforms more popular with younger generations?

To find out, Tinuiti conducted a survey in November 2025 among 1,037 adults in the United States.

The researchers found 67% of Gen Z and millennial respondents say they use AI platforms like ChatGPT at least weekly, compared with 55% of Gen X respondents and 39% of baby boomer respondents.

Some 54% of Gen Z and millennial respondents say they are using AI more than they were a year ago, compared with only 38% of Gen X and older respondents.

Gen Z are much more likely to say they've used the Character AI and Sora platforms compared with baby boomers.
