Gen Z is increasingly embracing TikTok for a wide range of activities—from following brands to keeping up-to-date with the world—while decreasingly using other social media platforms to find funny/entertaining content.

That's according to a recent report from GWI on the social media habits of Gen Z, which was based on data from a survey of thousands of internet users from around the world.

An infographic (below), looks at key findings from the research.

Specifically, it compares the most recent survey data to survey data from 2020, and highlights which social media motivations (reasons given for using different platforms) have undergone the biggest increases and decreases among Gen Z.
