Nokia's Organizational Structure

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
I am looking at the Cellphone industry and was wondering whether Nokia's organizational global structure an asset or a liability?
the fact that corporate oversees global marketing operations instead of regiocentrism. I am not sure in this case.

thank you for your help.

    Hi, Cindy,

Reason through the analysis. What market characteristics makes a global structure an asset? What makes a market characteristics regiocentric structure an asset? Which characteristics more closely fit the cell phone industry in the past, now, and in the future, as you may see it? Remember, global works best when the market is steady and homogeneous over a wide geography. When the market is rapid changing and diverse over geography, the regiocentric model is better. And then, there's hybrids of the two for "in between."

    I hope this helps.

    Wayde
