You know, the first thing that comes to mind is Church Groups. Most churches have a need for quality counseling alternative to religious based advice. Just about every church I have ever been to have support workshops for depression, anxiety, divorce adjustment, childcare, abuse, substance abuse, etc.

There are a lot of counselers and physcologists who host free 1-2 hour group sessions a night, then offer discounts and flex pay arrangements for the church members to come see them at their office for private treatment.

The local YWCA, all women exercise facilities, gay establishments, crisis centers, rehab hospitals, missions, etc. are teeaming with troubled women.

    I hope this helps!

    Good Luck!

Myra, do ya'll specialize in an area that would be of interest to the local press? PR seems like the best source of exposure for a service new to the city.

Read the papers in your metro area and notice the names of the journalists. Contact them with story ideas and with relevant statistics. My own uneducated suggestions are about supporting "gifted and talented" kids, or about misdiagnosed Asperger's syndrome, or about lowering the rampant rate of divorce...

Just being a mother+daughter team might be an interesting story, but your area of expertise will be the likely clincher.
