Contest For Media To Create Awareness

Hi,
We are going to launch a new generation of IT consumer hardware product. We've done an intergrated PR plan (teaser- launch event support, post event activity) and now thinking on an idea to organize a contest for journalist in order to further create the brand awareness among them. Please advise on its feasibility and any possible format of the contest?

    Hello!

    Well, will you, please, give us more information. What is the hardware used for? What are the benefits for the target audience? Journalists are not just a type of people, they are all different, with different needs. And combining those needs and the advantages of your product you can figure out what actions will actually make your product/presentation memorable for media.

    Organise a product launch in a nice hotel

    Provide food and drink

    Get the Journalists blind drunk (Not hard)

    Ask whatever you want and if you want something in return get them to sign an agreement. Have a readily available supply of those big children’s pens which are easy to use when the writer can’t focus on the paper.

    Phone them the next week (The next day would be too cruel) and ask them whatever you want and ask them to do whatever you want as well.

    It always worked in the electronics industry!
