How Can I Creatively Get The Attention Of Businesses To View A Presentation Regarding Television Advertising?

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
The market is saturated with advertising salespeople. Often, as soon as I mention TV or advertising, I get the "stiff-arm" and "Just drop something off and I'll look at it". I truly have a unique proposition to show them, but it's getting them interested enough to meet with me.

BC, I would host a one-hour breakfast/lunch/cocktail reception for a limited crowd. Extend your invitations by phone or email or both. Make an enticing offer that includes stuff like...

"All the bagels / roast chicken / caviar you can eat."
"Twenty minutes learning ten affordable ways that TV ads can attract customers."
"Examples of four local businesses that doubled their revenue in 90 days with their cable presence."
"A checklist you can keep to evaluate how much bang for your buck you can get with targeted TV advertising."

You might even give away one small TV/VCR combo (around $120 nowadays).

I would also try to get them to act immediately...
"This is limited to 40 participants. Can you be there on June 18th?" or in the email, "Click here to sign up."

Your targets might feel like a GROUP is safer than a one-on-one presentation. (The hard selling won't feel as acute when the pressure is dispersed across a crowd, hmm?)

Even if you're a one-man organization, recruit some assistants for the event to hand out info and greet arrivals.

Plan way ahead! And give invitees plenty of advance notice. If your proposition is truly unique AND intriguing, I'll bet you fill the room.
