Newsletter Sign Recomendation

I have just started producing a m-f, free opt-in newsletter that covers lifestyles. The response has been really good, people like the layout, especially the use of the apples and the content, which is eclectic.
I have been told that the way to go, re growing the subscriber base is to get your existing subscribers to recommend it and forward it. is there anything else i can do and how long does that usually take before readers will start doing that? i plan also to send out a letter from myself to subscribers, a kind of keeping you in the loop. at what point should i ask them to send the newsletter to their friends and recommend it?

    Chk out this website. They have relied on WOM publicity & some amount of TV exposure through Proprietor interviews.

    In a short span of time they have done the opt in bit well. Primarily because they have customised the content par excellence. Am sure your newsletter too, since it has got good initial feedback, will do well. Put in the action items of 'Fwd to a friend' to aid that.
