Need Ideas For Grand-openning Of An Asian Take-out

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am opening a new asian take-out. The concept is trendy, eclectic & healthy. Do you have ideas that i can use for the grand-opening? How I can attract customers who used to think take-out is low class and cheap and unhealthy?

thanks.

It would all depend on what city you are launching the business. In NYC, it would have to be something really spectacular to create an upscale image and cut through the clutter. In the South, something different would be called for. Can you give us an idea where the location is?>

It is in a mid-size city (150,000 pop) n next to Toronto, canada.

Well for a city that size, I think the best way to go is to start with some guerilla marketing techniques -- hire students or models/actors to stand outside the restaurant on opening day in formal asian-themed attire and distribute samples on beautiful asian trays. Get permission from the appropriate people to also do this at rush hour at the busiest commuting spot you can think of. You have to serve what you absolutely know to be the best food selections you offer. Make sure your paper menu is different from the usual red and green take out menu and hand that out as well. Get yourself booked on a local talk show and have the chef demonstrate. There are lots more ideas -- it actually sounds like a fun challenge. Hope this helps -- cllbm USA

Sounds like a interesting challenge. Me being an Asian might also be helpful for your launch.

    If your taget is non-asians:
You can highlight the health factors. Do few 'T' shaped flags like the ancient flags... have one food item on each. Eg, picture of only a 'Broccoli' and tell the vitamines it has and how it can help you helth. and below mention something like 'Taste a Broccoli Soup - Step right in' You must have atleast 5-6 different food item and have the flags outside your store you can do flyers using this same concept.

If possible have the lauch outside under a clean trendy asian looking tent with asian crafts hangin around. Have your chefs prepair the food there and make sure the aroma will spread around and people walking by will be attracted. If you can have it at lunch hour it will be ideal.

Asian music will go well with this... Hint: 'Buddha Bar'

To show your food is clean you need to have it in a hygenic packing. Better if you can highlight 2-3 health factors in tha package itself. This way they will feel they are eating a healthy food which is true.

If you have postcard campaigns availble get that service and tell the postcard distributors to place them in Health clubs. And for people who bring the card or your flyer will get a discount on the opening day. Idealy if you can distribute your flyers and posters to Offices and factories in the morning they will come to taste your food at lunch time.

Idely your goal would be to sell or give away your food to many as possible so on the 2nd day they will come back to indulge in your take away that's where you make your profits.

    If your target is Asians:
Make them feel that their home cooked meal is now available in Canada. Make sure you have extra spice as an option without anycost so people will spice their food according to their taste.

Hope this will help you... Good Luck.

Hire street performers like Cirque De Soleil, who will do amazing tricks with your food items in front of the store
