Earth Day Promo -headline/tag/ Label Blurb Help!

Posted by Anonymous on 1000 Points
We sell 'pre-loved' merchandise. Antiques, clothing, jewelry, art etc.

Sick to death of 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle'. Conjures an imagine in my mind of a recycling bin/crushed aluminum cans or something. Not an imagine for our upscale stores.
But some of the standard fare seems so trite. No zip either.

Need an ad headline, tagline and a short blurb to put on the actual stuff (clothes and non-clothes) to tie to Earth Day and remind customers that by the nature of our business, we are one of the original types of businesses that were 'eco-friendly', 'green', etc. before everyone jumped on the band wagon! (Although that's great - I think the consumer is becoming ho-hum?) Anyway,

Intend to place ads, as well as attach a label to the merchandise in the store to pat customers on the back for being so SMART to shop with us as by doing so they not only save money but help 'save the planet' with little effort on their part! (no separating/sorting/trade-offs/change of habit/lifestyle/extra purchases/sacrifice); as part of promo.

My brain is paralyzed. All I could come up with is
'We Clothes the Loop' - words in circle around the stupid, yet iconic recycle symbol. Even so that tag doesn't cover the 'stuff'.

I'm working on a drycleaning print ad campaign for some California drycleaners right now that centre around environmental cleaning and environmental responsibility. I'm in that similar frame of mind. Here's where my head is going....

Find that image of Earth that the astronauts took from the moon's surface (it's free from NASA in very high resolution, and in the public domain). Photoshop out the back ground so just the Earth remains. Find a picture of a paper (not plastic) shopping bag from a stock photography gallery like Big Stock Photo (Inexpensive stock photos from here: https://www.bigstockphoto.com/?refid=cG0fu5Qr2D). Photoshop your earth image into the shopping bag like it's been purchased and bagged.

Now, for the copy or teaser. You could go with phrases like:

    - no planets were harmed during your shopping trip today
    - every item in this store saves manufacturing, shipping, and the Earth.
    - every little re-gift and re-purchase helps
    - New to you is better for all of us
    - Buy previously owned, the planet you save may be your own
    - Buy used, the savings multiply
    - the ultimate in no hassle low cost retail
    - who says environmentalism is a lot of hassle?
    - who says environmentalism is expensive?

That's all I have right now over my breakfast bagel, hope they help you.

    "Green is good".

OK, that's an attempted joke for Michael Douglas fans. Now for some real ideas:

    It's easy being green.
    For those that care.
    Conserve memories.

Thank you all for such great suggestions! I truly appreciate your time and input. It's so helpful to have outside input when you are a small retailer. I'm digesting everything you've said!
