Trademarks In Ads. What Is Open For Use.

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
My client, a software provider in the apparel industry, want to to an ad that would say something like " from hat to shoes". To make it sexier, we suggested "from Stetson to stiletto".

Now, Stetson is a trademark. Can I use it or should I forget about it and try something like "from beret to boots" which would not create any conflict.

    Hi sylvainlemire,

Forget about it, it's a registered trademark, I would not even consider using it for commercial purposes.

If Stetson finds out I guarantee their IP attorneys will be sending you a not so friendly letter.

    I hope that helps.
