Hotel Billboard Near Casino

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
Okay, so I just landed this freelance job where I'm designing an ad/billboard for a new hotel in upstate NY. It's a boutique style, 33 room hotel. "HOTEL WESTGATE". Location: half mile from a casino. Possibly incorporate casino reference in some ads, but not too much of a reflection because we want to stay separate. Any ideas for copy, print ads, billboards, etc. All ideas are greatly appreciated!
PS. I'll post the final once it's agreed on!
Thanks!

It would help if we knew a bit more about this hotel property.

    - target market
    - Unique selling point
    - What really makes it different than other properties in the area
    - Amenities that make it stand out
    - What things is the hotel highlighting in other marketing materials

    Thanks.

Quick thought. To tie in with gambling theme but indirectly, could use tagline of:

Hotel Westgate ... It always pays off!

    or

It's "no gamble" when you stay with us!

    or

Hotel Westgate ... Where you're always a winner!

Actually PhilGrisoliaMarketing, I've designed several billboards for clients as well as write copy for this particular client. As a results-oriented marketing communications pro, you should know that any outside ideas that can spark other ideas besides your own are greatly appreciated and taken into consideration for the overall outcome of the project. Thank you PhilGrisoliaMarketing but please no more snide remarks insulting my business intentions.

    Kevin.shoesmith,
Thank you for sharing your ideas!

Here's an idea of what we've come up with so far:

    "Hotel Westgate"
    - Our dream is your dreams.

    "Hotel Westgate"
    - Come. (Our rooms are much cleaner than your thoughts.)

    "Hotel Westgate"
    - Put your best foot WESTward.

    "Hotel Westgate"
    - The closest thing to home besides your neighbors."

Any comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Are you targeting business travelers, families, or gamblers? Using a billboard means the message is intended for local traffic (to brand it for local businesses/residents)

I'd suggest taking your copy in a different direction. Focus on the benefit you offer your target group: Price? Amenities? Location? Packages? Themes?

Client's request: billboard copy for new boutique style, 33-room hotel in upstate NY that's a half mile from a casino. Possibly incorporate casino reference.

    My suggestions:

Hotel Westgate: Go WEST for clean convenience.

Hotel Westgate: On a roll for comfort and convenience.

Hotel Westgate: Gamble on our comfort and style.

    Hope this helps.
