Free To Play Game Website

Posted by Anonymous on 500 Points
We are developing templates for our game sites - Gamescampus.com specializes in publishing free to play competitive sports and combat games- what do you think of this MLB sports website template?

[inactive link removed]

What would you add or subtract? Our main focus is to get people to register and download the free games...thoughts?

It's a bit busy, with 2 levels of menus (the one from Games Campus and the one for MLB Dugout Heroes) (not to mention the one at the bottom of the page itself).

I'd get rid of the news/events/strategy book/gallery board on the home page. You want most of this information for people that are members to view, not for people who are new to your site to see. The goal of this page would appear to be to get people to sign up and download the game. You might want to add code to your download page itself that confirms that the machine/OS the browser is operating on is compatible with the game.

I agree with tinker - you need a better incentive for me to download the game - a video would help.

Your graphics are eye-catching but I would have no idea that the main purpose of the site is to register and download the game.

I would get rid of the entire news section and increase the middle box with the baseball characters. You currently have buttons that look like you can scroll through the screens. They currently do not work so you could have additional information like how to register, download, etc included in this box.

What I would suggest is visit other gaming sites and see how they have their site set up. They scream, register now, download now, see a sample of the game, etc.
Follow what has been successful for some of the other gaming sites.

News, Events, Strategy currently on the home page could be their own page. Again, the main focus on your home page is to build excitement and get them to register.

Once the game is available, have some testimonials on the home page from actual gamers. This will give credibility to the game and make people want to register/download.

With baseball season starting soon, you want people to register now. I would suggest making the changes as soon as possible. Perfect timing for getting baseball fans to start playing your game.

    Good luck.

    Brian
