The restaurant is in the US. It is located in a small country village, but draws most guests within a 30 mile radius-from surrounding cities. Our market is families and guests 40-60 years of age. Looking to draw print media and television.

What did you do for your 150th anniversary? How was that received? Can you piggyback on that celebration?

We did not own it for the 150th . . . . And I don't think the previous owners acknowledged it . .

    Some thoughts:
Consider an historical perspective; photos, library, town memorabilia, historical society archives are treasure troves of ideas. Post photos of notable sites/people/locations from around town throughout the restaurant. Have servers dress in 1850 period for the year (of course, comfort and ease are priority), new menus, placards with 1850-2010 +/or 160 logo designed just for this year. How 'bout topping off the pricing with $20.10 cost? Or select a group of items and offer them at $18.50--dessert included. Is there a local radio station that would like to do a show on location? TV news or magazine "shows" loves this type of local gig (We have Better Connecticut). Print napkins with special logo, order limited #of glassware imprinted with same as collectibles. Consider the small fry, too. Plastic drink containers w/logo; develop a scavenger hunt based on the pictures to keep the kids occupied. And of course, the coloring placemats. Have a local artist draw a scene from "Your Town 1850" that the kids (parents and grandparents) will enjoy.

    Best,

How about a campaign where you say, "Nothing Beats a Classic" with a photo of the restaurant on t-shirts, mugs and the biggie...MAKE A COOKBOOK TO SELL! Whenever people travel and see an old establishment, they want the cookbook. It would generate $$ and attention. Maybe say, we are cook'n up the archives and rolling out the recipes. Would make for a good press release. Good luck!
