Planned Tabloid Advert For Selling Racing Tips

Posted by Anonymous on 500 Points
I have posted on napman.co.uk the advert I plan to place in a tabloid newspaper with a daily circulation of 3m and a readership of 8m a day, this coming March 15th/18th 2011.

Unsupported by a website, this is a stand alone project offering horse racing tips via an sms/text service for £1.50 per message recieved.

The Cheltenham festival is a big horse racing meeting on the yearly calander and the advert should be viewed by approx 2m tabliod readers of the chosen tabloid.

First question.. Is my copy going to convert people into action and send a text/sms at £1.50?

Second question.. What type of conversion rate should i be realistically be looking at?

Thanks for your time.

If you really want to get a good response rate you would want to offer your service for free (for a limited time, or # of tips).

By doing this people will have a higher probability to signing up for your service, and then you will be able to capture their contact information.

Remember it is harder to get a client than keep a client!

    best of luck

The ad wouldn't convince me. Are 95% of your naps documented wins? Do you offer a guarantee? What type of proof that what you're offering is better than a random pick?

Thank you all for your response and advice. I now intend to direct traffic from the tabloid advert to the basic web site in order for those to inspect my previous naps, both winners and losing tips.
