Ideas For Promoting Fast Food Outlet

Posted by sarvavelamuri on 125 Points
Our company has been assigned the task of coming up with a marketing plan for a fast food outlet. Other than print media, social networking site like facebook, any other idea on below the line activities or promotions? Apparently they have a good crowd in the evenings, but no crowd for breakfast nor lunch. Their location is fantastic though- heart of commercial area, and swarming with office goers. But the prices are a wee bit steep:-)
Please help! Thanks a lot !

It would also depend on what kind of fast food you sell.

What appeals to the people in your area for breakfast? Offer them what they want, not what you think they want. From there, offer incentives for them to visit your location before they go to work and/or go about their day.

Hi Puru! Hi Gail ! Thank you for your prompt response. Yes Puru- you are right- the traffic in the evenings is the shopping crowd since it is just outside of a huge shopping mall. Families/ Youngsters hanging about. During the day, the area is swarming with office goers since t is a business district. But the restaurant does not attract them:-( . We need to get footfalls during the day for breakfast and lunch. What the client would like to attract is the office going crowd. What can we do to get the footfalls from this crowd? Any suggestions on what kind of incentives we can offer?

Focus on the office workers and clientele. They are ideal prospective customers, particularly for lunch. Breakfast may be kind of tricky since most people tend to get to the office just in time for work (or appointment). Offer a "downtown" deal. Feature a "fast food" meal of the week. Hire someone to hand out coupons or flyers in a downtown district or choose some of the largest buildings w/mass # employees &/or visitors. Check the local convention & visitors bureau to see when/if groups are expected in town and also with local Chambers of Commerce to insure your restaurant is listed in local directories, etc. Take advantage of appropriate, permitted sign locations/opportunities througout tow, including temporary placements. Check out museums, theaters, parks, recreation venues, etc. Many times they will allow advertising, coupons and such to be displayed.

There are many possibilities. Hope these ideas help.

Find out where the office goers are currently going and what they offer that your clients doesn't. Hand out coupons as people walk by with an extra incentive (enter in drawing) if they take an online survey - and ask them their lunch preferences. This will help to ensure you are solving the right problem (If it's price, offer a reduced price lunch (maybe smaller quantity); if it's speed, you need to have some items all ready to go; if it's the type of food, you need to offer something else; etc.) Also, if you are in an office locations, what about offering box lunches for catered meetings?

    Hello
I would recommend you to try out product sampling and demonstration. Give out some of the fast foods to your prospects for them to test and have a feel of them.

Complement this with giving out flyers and business cards or coupons to where they can get more of wat they have tested.

This has worked for the clients we have worked with here in Uganda.

    Sincerely
