Brochure For South American Businesses

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I have to put together a brochure to help us find new customers in South America. Any advice? How formal should I be in my copy? Should i talk to them like we are friends or familiars? what should be my main areas of focus? I really need some help! I am new at this job!

You will definitely need someone who is good at copy in each country in South America, both Spanish and Portugese. Each county has different buttons to push and different colloquialisms.

You will get a cheaper price if you write the copy and then ask each copywriter to correct your usage and help your language to acheive its effect, rather than write from scratch.

    Hope that helps,

In the near future I will be targeting Uruguay, Peru, and Brazil. The brochure is for businesses. The industry is radio. We want to do time leases of radio stations. I am seeking leads for me to followup on. The brochure doesn't need to be too big. I was thinking a standard 6 side brochure. Thanks for the response

Well, the style in which you talk to prospective clients/customers depends on the culture. In the U.S., the tactic taken is ''professional familiarity'', yet friendly, helpful intent to provide benefits to rectify their problems (or perceived problems). In highly targeted advertising situations, industry jargon can be a plus BUT should not be used for marketing to ''general'' audiences.

Hope this helps; you''ll really have to rely on the copy writing specialists for each area to set the base. Best of luck!
