Suggestions For A Business' 85th Anniversary

Posted by twoomer on 125 Points
We will be celebrating our 85th Anniversary this year and we are looking for ways to thank our employees, clients and customers for helping us reach this plateau. We operate approx 60 small locations in 14 states, so a party is not really an option and there is no budget for this celebration. We are considering a recognition certificate that would be posted in each location for all to see, but the wording is eluding me since the owners are looking for a single solution. Any suggestions? I'm thinking to stick with "KISS" by creating a logo for the 85th and then a simple thank you statement, but not sure if that seems too insignificant in light of our significant achievement. Thoughts? Suggestions? Any input you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

How about offering a one day, 85% discount on selected items? Or an 8.5% discount? Give to get.

How about having your 60 locations vote on non-profit to donate monies to? How about having your locations send photos and stories for you to collect and share both internally and externally?

Why is an 85th anniversary a "plateau?" It sounds more like "over the hill," doesn't it? And what is it you're celebrating? Are you thanking customers for their business, or employees for their loyalty? If so, that would be applicable if the company were 22 years old, or 68 years old, or 126 years old.

I guess I don't understand what's so special about the fact that your company has plateaued at 85 years. Can you help?

I guess my response would be to keep on doing what you've been doing that has made you successful, and test ways to remain relevant in an environment where your competition is "younger" and perhaps more aggressive and contemporary than the "old timer."

At 85 years they've made it far longer than most companies. Pretty good accomplishment.

IMO, give the employees a gift card or gas card. It'll go a lot further than a certificate.

    For employees 1 bank securities
