Advertising A 1 Day Event

Posted by rsvpto on 25 Points
I put on fun adult scavenger hunt races and have been using groupon and living social to promote our events. When they decide to run the ad correctly and it is their decision, we sell hundreds of tickets. But more and more they are doing a poor job. Choosing to only send our event to a fraction of their subscribers. Naturally the amount of tickets purchased drops considerable. I am looking for a way to spend money on advertising that will lead to ticket sells to our events. We've tried several times doing radio campaigns and failed. We want to spend about $5,000 per city and get 500-1000 individual tickets sold. Really looking for someone who is very experienced with advertising one day fun runs, races or similar once a year events. Any one have any ideas?
We have contacted many SEM / PPC and advertising agencies and have not found a good solution.

I had trouble with Living Social also. Seems they have grown too much, so now are not as useful for their clients.

You may want to try zozi.com.

Thank you for the suggestion to try Zozi. We have recently began working with Zozi and it has been a much more interactive relationship versus the dictatorship approach that livingsocial and groupon command. Unfortunately at this time they do not have a large enough following to get the job done. However, we are looking forward to the day when they do. As for the comment stating WRONG!. Got to love a person who has an opportunity and chooses to alienate the customer. If I had an employee that answered a request for advertising help in that manner, they would be unemployed. The post was an opportunity to engage the customer, learn more and propose a solution. No, alienating the customer is probably a better solution:)
