E-newsletter Subscriber Responsiveness

Posted by larry.sebbens on 25 Points
Brokerage firm. Have built nice subscriber list for our e-newsletter. We've limited content to pushing articles to them. Now want to test responsiveness and generate leads. List is mix of clients and prospects. Any suggestions on things others have done? Surveys? Ask for seminar topic suggestions?

You're doing the right thing with sensible, well written articles that get your audience interested. You can add the occasional thought that this is what you do and how you make your living. Have you done any case studies to tempt the unready? What can you do to increase the levels of trust you have already generated? Have you run any webinars that people can attend?

Trying to sell to them directly will see your unsubscribe rate go into orbit :-(

I would leave well alone, having a quality email list is to my mind something to treasure and nurture. Be very careful with this delicate part of your business.

Having calls to action related to the content is standard best practice. For example, if you have an article about a neighborhood, you could have a download of a free Ebook on the Best Neighborhood Restaurants...then you get good data on who has specific interests.
