I would suggest that concentrating on those things that actually sell is your best strategy. You'll make more money from doing so than by concentrating on things that are harder for you to sell.

Which doesn't get you one inch further, does it? Well, firstly you could apply patience - after all, these things may not have the market that your more popular products have. That being the case, you could inch up the price to make each sale a little more worthwhile to you. After all, if they're going to be slow sellers, why not make them slower still ;-)

At least that way you'll gain something extra on your investment.

Another strategy would be to see which products are commonly sold with which. Looking into multiple sales this way would allow you to pair up two products that sell well together - one of them being a slow seller. You could offer a few dollars discount on the multiple purchase. It would sell an extra slow-seller and perhaps a slow selling product could then leverage a more profitable product too!

    Does this help?

If these products are "out-of-date" (i.e., people would rather buy the "new version" of the "old" thing you're selling), then you're best to either: give it away (deeply discounted, perhaps - but if people really don't want it, then they won't value it) or find a new market for it (if people in the US are buying the "new thing" can you focus on regions of the world where your product would look "new"?).

    Define "slow moving".

Are the slow-moving products still making money for you?

If you want to promote more aggressively, and more efficiently, you're usually better served to promote your faster-moving products than to promote the dogs. It's hard to save something that people don't want.

Moriarty has the right approach. For the items that are 'slow-moving' generate cash flow by 'bundling' several items as kit and with a substantial discount over open stock

eBay has an easy way to deal with slow moving products - lower the price. Mark it as a sale and put it up with a starting bid of $.01. Let it sell for whatever it will sell for, but get rid of it so you can focus on your profitable products (as Moriarty suggested). Get rid of the buy it now price (or lower that a lot).
