Well there's a problem with out of the box thinking, and it's that it's simply chaos out there. From blue budgerigars to crocodiles that have a fetish for swimmers' toes ... and the real power of out of the box thinking is when it's focussed on something inside your box. The TV in this case ;-)

The more focus, the more power. Like using a lens to burn a leaf using sunlight - unless it's spot on, nothing happens. When it is, it's awesome.

Now: given that there are quite a few variety entertainment channels on the planet already, why would someone want to watch yours? People don't go starting TV channels without a good idea of who's going to watch and why, and they don't go starting TV channels unless they can meet these needs. Your answers don't have to be that specific, but they do have to give us a reasonable idea who we're trying to attract the attention of.

One strong line of action for you is to use Facebook advertising. Whilst you are in a dense commodity market, you will be able to determine your customer base through the metrics that Facebook can provide for you. This will get better when their new advertising algorithm hits South Asia.

Who is your target audience? What do you know about them and their current viewing habits?

Without knowing the answers to Michael's questions I'd say social media, buzz marketing, and word of mouth.
