Creative Job Ads/tactic/pitch To Get Talents?

Posted by fongkamling on 125 Points
Hi all,

I need ideas on a good job ads (or a 30-sec video) which I can post on social media and shown on iPAD where I will simply hold on or show to potential candidates. Any ideas?

I'm working on my startup now, a C2C Fashion Marketplace app for ladies to buy and sell fashion.

For the past half a year, I've been trying to get the right tech co-partner to join me. The potentials I spoke to, are either unable to commit or they do not share the same passion and desire to build up the product up fast and right with me. Some just rejected me simply of their current commitment or they don't believe in my idea.

I believe I was focusing too much on the product when "selling" the idea to them, rather than the dream. And rather than passively look for one through events, I have decided to shout out I'm looking for the right person to join me.

A little about the company now, I'm handling the whole business myself now and would three other founding partners to join me, specifically at least a tech founding partner who can commit full time. I do not need the best coder in town. I need one who can commit and share the same passion and vision as me.

About the business, we're ready to change women's shopping behaviour across Asia. With textile wastage being the top contributor to water pollution and only 10% are recyclable, but most of us women, have 80% of the clothes in our closet we do not wear them them anymore although some are still in tip top condition! I am ready to change how women shop, simply by having an additional option to shop each others' closet too. You are selling your un-loved fashion to someone who would love it more, earn from it, so you buy what you wear today. With that, they may stop spending extra dollars on fashion. You can save the money, save the planet too.

A little about my corporate culture belief, I don't believe in 9-5. I believe in simply producing results - we're friends at work rather than boss-colleague relationship.

In Asia, a lot of people still believe in a steady 9 to 5 job, not willing to step out of their comfort zone. So that's also another point where I need to convince Asians to step out to create big things for themselves, rather than for someone else.

If they are looking for short term money, this won't be the place to be too. Since I likely do not have $$ to pay them for 3 - 6 months until I get funding. They get good equity shares though.

If they are looking for longer term benefit and simply want to join in changing the way women shop together, she or he would be the right person in the organisation.

I'm eager to find the right people to join me.....please help me out here?

Telling people too much of what you don't believe in does set you apart, but in a sort of bad way. Focusing on your dream and its upside is probably a good idea. Think hard about giving away equity in the business. Starting out in a niche is most often a very good approach.
I hope some of that helps.

You might start by focusing on people who are currently retired. With decades of experience they likely have the wisdom to understand the "big picture".

Have you posted advertisements on local job boards?

Have you looked at local business schools and fashion institutes for possible talent?

Can you offer a substantial referral bonus for finding the right talent?

    hi,

I have approached a local tech institution for help but i never get to meet the graduates.

I am meeting a group of techies looking for opportunities now. But there are quite a few others who would be there looking too. So i have got to stand out from the crowd.
