Most Effective Marketing For My Pressure Cleaning

Posted by deronthompson2 on 250 Points
I have started a business in pressure washing, I have just now began to research the most effective ways to market my business. Since the beginning the only form of marketing has been word of mouth. My question is what would be the most effective way to advertise my business? I have a goal of 250 customers a month. I'll do whatever is needed to achieve this goal.

How has word-of-mouth worked for you so far? What have you done to capitalize on it (gifting people for referrals, for example)? How do you compare against your competition? If you're really providing identical service & pricing, you need to find approaches to distinguish yourself. There are lots of ways to get noticed - it depends on who you're trying to target, your budget, and message. And unfortunately, while there are best practices for doing effective marketing, ultimately it becomes trial-and-error (small measured tests) in your region - since there's no one size that fits all.

Hamilton-Roth.. Thank you for the timely response.

Right now my target customer would be the residential homes/ suburbs.. Later after building my monthly clientele to a respectable amount I would like to move into commercial work also. Word of mouth has produced on average 5 houses a week & my services average at 300$. So 1500 weekly which is pretty for a college Junior. But I feel that in my area the Orlando area there is no 1 multi-employee company just 1man operations like myself.. I'm looking to change that & also in the process lower prices for all customers. My budget would be 3000. Maybe we can arrange to help me meet my goals. With virtually no marketing I'm a little less than 1/10 on the way to my goal. I know it's possible I just need a little help.

Right now I am in the process of delivering 10,000 flyers, and also run an ad in the Orlando Sentinel.

Can you target a specific community/HOA?
Lowering prices will only attract bargain hunters, and not necessarily showcase your speed, cleanliness, guarantees, etc.
You could offer for every referral, a homeowner will get 200sf (or whatever seems reasonable) free powerwashing. Or, offer to do a section of homeowners homes for free (you choose what area) and let them see the before/after (this is similar to the older sales technique of cleaning a section of carpeting). Leaving the job only partially done will look odd, so the homeowner is likely to want you to finish the job - for a fee.

That is a good idea, I guess I could find a directory of HOA's in my area and just go down the list and see if they could use my services, and referrals have been the only way of me getting jobs. I'm sure using a discount like you said would definitely increase sales but not to where I want it to be.. how do you feel about the flyers & newspaper ad? good move or no? And are there any other test runs that you can think of ? Im willing to try anything, I'll call the HOA's tomorrow and see how that goes.

Do you know the actual numbers they were able to hit? I don't have a website and would pay for one if the numbers were correct... As far as sales goes, and another point is we can year round while others can't.

    HI Deron!

Pertaining to your question above have you tried to do email marketing for your local business? Email marketing is one of my favorite marketing form that I am using for my business since this is where I normally target my prospects and get customers without using your mouth to sell, but first before doing this, you should have your own website.

Email marketing is a form of direct marketing to your target customers that uses a systematic electronic mail compared to the old traditional mailbox marketing. Any email (newsletter, promotions, trainings, coupons, product launching, demonstration, announcements, blog content, etc.) sent to a potential or current customer could be considered email marketing. In other words, creating a communication channel to enhance vendor’s relationship with its current, potential or previous customers to develop loyalty and repeat business. If you target 250 customers per month you can do this by doing email marketing.

HOW EMAIL MARKETING HELPS LOCAL BUSINESSES

Like any business owners (restaurant, flower shop, lawyers, doctors/dentists, construction, authors, pottery, pet grooming, or your kind of business, etc.) you want to take advantage of the benefits of email marketing. There’s endless lists of benefits, but one of the most relevant and influential reasons to use email marketing is its return on investment (ROI).

For better understanding of email marketing you may opt to check one of my favorite blog post about email marketing. You may just visit this link: https://onestepupbyjc.com/wp/blog/2015/01/08/why-email-marketing-is-the-bes...

There are several email marketing service provide out in the market like aweber, get response, mail chimp and so much more. Please check this link to see some comparison and the email marketing platform that I use and trust https://youtu.be/N-HWXeP1aiY

    Hope this help!
