In Store Promotions

Posted by sayem on 250 Points
I want to launch a new app based QR code payment option inside a grocery store. I want to understand what are the best techniques/ visual aid (eg banners, tent cards etc) to :
a) advertise this new product to customers
b) encourage them to use it.
The usage is pretty intuitive via the app, but customers will need to download and install the app to use this payment option.

I also want to run promotional offers to drive the adoption of this payment mode - any insights on how to construct the offer will be highly appreciated

What's the benefit to the customer to use your new app? Why should they trust their financial information with you? How will it help the store owner? How do you make money with the app?

What's in it for the customer? Why might they want this? Is the current process a problem for them?

In the current checkout process, customers usually pay by cash- and exact change is a problem for both customers and merchant. Not everyone carries credit cards (esp school/college kids) .The app is linked to a customers mobile number so they can instantly pay using their phones and dont need to ever worry about carrying their wallet/cash with them. As far as security is concerned , we dont store any personal information on the app, We want to highlight the convinience, and ease of the entire payment process for the customers.
For the merchants, the cost of transactions is lower compared to existing modes and settlement period is shorter.

The goal of this promotion exercise is to test certain assumptions regarding the adoption of our solution. We want to understand if :
    1. People will adopt a new payment solution for its convenience or for novelty or because there is a promotional offer
2 Who can drive the adoption- customers or merchants

Yes , not everyone carries credit cards and exact change problem is there, if you want to increase subscriber to install , you can make the offer for users who install your app in mobile so more user will install if you give them attractive offers. how would they come if you don't offers on such way to payment process rather it would better to cash or credit card ..
