Comparing Vesrisons Of Websites

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
thanks for the comments many of you made when I first posted a question. Below I have listed the URLs of our current homepage and the one we are working on. the goal was to make clearer what we do, and what our products do.

There is still copy to place in the dev site, but I would be interested in reactions from the peanut gallery...

Current: www.securities.com

Work in Progress: (inactive link removed)

Bear in mind, our subscribers come to our homepage as a first stop, and have all been traed where to go. But the casual visitor, or the person instructed to visit our website, would likely find it hard to understand clearly what we do...hence the redesigned version.

Thanks for you input!

OK, hands down, without a doubt, the new site is a winner.

First, I went to the current site and it took me about 10 minutes to figure out what you do. I enrolled in the free trial (and requested to receive more than a week so I can continue to advise you, so I hope you can make that happen).

When I clicked on the new link, everything I had to did for in the current site was right there in big bold letters! Plus, the graphics make it more attractive and professional looking.

Please send me an email with updates as they occur since I am very interested in your service. My clientele extend into the European nations and I would like to know what is happening in the emerging markets of developing countries.

Very good! I think you hit the bullseye on this one!

    Talk to you soon!

James, overall it's a HUGE improvement. Bravo!

However, the one advantage of your existing site is its WIDTH. It's good that it stretches to fit the browser.

The new design is going to be too wide for most visitors. (I, for one, can't stand sites that make me scroll horizontally.)

    jampot,

The new website is like night and day. Your upgrade gives a greater sense of organization and control. You just don't know how much more of a difference a website like this will make to your customer. And bottom line appealing to the customer should be at the heart of everything you do. As Shelley said scrolling from east to west is a little bit more than what is common. Wish you all the increase you are expecting. Thanks. Is there anything else I can do for you?
