Hll And P&g Pricing Strategy In India?

hi i want to know about the hll and p&g pricing strategy in india in the urban markets and also how they propose to capture the rural markets and what are the changes they will have to do for the same?

    P&G is known for adapting pricing and product form to the Indian market - for instance slashing prices on Ariel and Tide detergent with 30-46% in 2003-2004 to challenge the dominance of HLL's Surf Excel brand - leading to a 30% cut on this brand and a price war: see the cases 'Price war in the Indian Detergent Market' #504-076-1 on this and 'Fairness wars' # 501-073-1 on a similar case for HLL fairness creams in 199-2000, both by ICFAI business school.
