Friendly, Inexpensive "point Of Sale" Ideas Needed

Posted by telemoxie on 250 Points
I'm helping a buddy of mine promote our Fraternity's 75th Anniversary. We are expecting 50 to 80 alumni from our era, plus probably half that many wives.

My buddy is a Mortgage Broker, who has a fun life where he makes lots of money helping his friends save money on mortgages. His company has sponsored the event - but now that we have lots of folks (many of whom are his friends from college, 25 years ago) who are coming - I'd like to see if I can find a low-pressure, low cost, friendly way to help him translate the good will from the event into business.

Any ideas?

Great ideas so far - thanks - keep them coming.

I'm encouraging my buddy to bring lots of business cards... also I'll check with him to see if he has any ad specialty items (any ideas for inexpensive ones?)

Here's an idea: how about an address book... lots of folk will be seeing folk they haven't connected with in a long time - we can go ahead and write my buddy's contact info in the book...

... very short timetable, by the way. Until today, have focused on building attendance, party is Friday May 13th (hence the urgent status)

    hi telemoxie

great ideas mentioned above.adding to those....

    1. why not have a Visitng Card Drop Box, where every attendee will drop his/her visiting card. based on the address/email from the visiting cards your buddy can send brochures

    2. you can develop a small program which contains the most current address of all the members of the Fraternity(those are coming and not coming, all) and hand out that to every participant (it can be a mini CD or Pen drive). the program will be automatically loaded into the pc/alptop when inserted and the address will be stored under a branded Group in the pc's default email browser.

given the small time-frame, this will be really difficult to implement, sorry man.

    3. in accordance with the 75th anniversary, your buddy and his company can offer a 0.75% or 7.5% discount on their charges.

    4. based on all the email address that u will receive from all the visiting cards, create a Group Mail Account in Yahoo, so that everyone can remain in touch with each other. your buddy can easily communicate his sales pitch by sending a mail to this group mail.

    5. when any one is leaving the premises greet him/her with a package which contains a stick of YELLOW rose, a referral statement from one of the client of your buddy and a Promotional brochure that contains the latest price quotations (discounts, if any).

    6. give every attendee a Branded T-Shirt and a branded porcelein/ceramic mug as a memento of the anniversary.

    7. dont know whether this goes with your group, create a Branded PhotoBook (call it Memorabilia) containing pictures of your old days together and hand out that all participants.

    hope this helps.

    cheers!!

Have the official photographer create a DVD for all the attendees, with all the pictures from the event. In the lower right corner you can put a small logo for your friend's business ... along with a short blurb at the beginning and end that says the cost of the DVD was picked up by his generous contribution.
