Using Adsense To Market And Make Money On A Blog?

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hello, my name is Dylan Rogers and I began a tech blog nearly three weeks ago (The Binary Opinion / www.binaryopinion.com). I was wondering what the best ways are to effectively promote and generate revenue from it using Google AdSense. I have already signed up for the AdSense program and have since made $1.64 from it but what I hope to get from it is to make AdSense a type of part-time job. Could anyone acquainted with the idea assist me? Thanks.

My first though is that I am not sure you can make a career out of any revenue for Google Adsense.

But, Google Adsense works through connecting viewers (your readers) with sellers (the ads served up by Google). To make more money, you need more people to click the ads. This can be done by:
    1) getting more readers of your Blog. Promote you Blog, write content which makes people want to read, etc.
    2) doing what you can to get ads posted that are relevant to what your readers may be interested in. This is a bit harder, but some things you do (such as if you change subjects a lot) may hurt this. A targeted Blog will draw both readers and ads that are on target, where a more broad one will have readers and ads from a broad background (making it less likely that the reader will want what the ad is offering).
