Getting Ready To Refresh Our Year-old Site

Posted by Anonymous on 100 Points
I'm on the board of a writers group. Our old website was way out of date, so last summer I wrote/rewrote all the content and designed a site from scratch. The site is for members as well as potential members. This summer, I plan to add more content and finally get our online store up.

I would like fresh feedback that I can use to create the next version of the site. Do keep in mind that the site needs to stay simple enough (technically) for other volunteers to handle in the future.

Thanks in advance.

I have had a quick look at your site, is it ok.

I agree with Puru on his above comments.

Also i might suggest that you have some text on your page and not just a picture with the text on it. This is because search engines are blind, they cant see the text if you put it on a picture.

It will all help with the page load time. Text is MUCH smaller in size than a picture.

The Home page should not link to it self.

has alot of extra spaces at the bottom that are not needed.

Also i think there is a freeware that will let you view the screen as if it was a Windows machine, but i cant remember the name of it.I know there is a version for Windows as I use it when I critique sites on KHE.

I will be back soon to finish the critique, as my boss has decided that i have to clean the walls of the smokers room :(.
