How To Use An Award To Help Sell The Company

My company is a post production facility that is also a training facility for the post production individuals. Recently, our post production won an international award for our work. We want to do a PR piece on it, to help us create more awareness in and outside of our industry. And to increase our training flow.
Where do I start? What do I avoid? We don't have budget to do a event or a big newspaper ad.

    Hi aahnia,
    Congratulation on your award. I would suggest you start locally by spreading the word of your company achievement. You can contact radion stations and see if they would agree to give you a 5 minutes spot to talk about your company success. To do this you have to find an angle that would spark their interest.

    Another thing you can do is to photo copy all the clippings about your company and send it off to all your clients using a newsletter. This is a very inexpensive way of spreading the word.

    Look for newspapers and magazines that would be interested in your business and pitch a news release to them.

    The simplest way to utilize this kind of award winning is to get as much of your info (including website address and offline contacts) onto the award site. Chances are that some kind of mention was made, but you might want to investigate just how much was. You might be surprised that all the international site has listed is your company's name. They (most likely) want this to be a win-win for both companies by sharing links. In every ad, press release or service listing, make sure you have both the name of the award and the granting organization.

    my friend Thinkmor always thinks more and he has given an effective and complete answer.

    DON'T toot YOUR little horn ***BLOW IT*** BUT DO IT INTELLIGENTLY, SWEETLY AND SINCERELY
    Now you could do what I did when I won an award. The first thing was get a sticker designed that would allow me to stick it onto my envelopes and tapes. This is great exposure and a wonderful way to blow your own horn.

    DO IT LITTLE BY LITTLE THAT'S HOW EVERYTHING GROWS.
    Contact your Local newspaper and tell them about the great service you deliver (only if it's true). Then build one step at a time, one customer at a time, little by little. Until you're known all over the world for the great little thing you do that has made you so big. I could say a lot more....but I won't bore you.
