Trade Show Booth

Posted by Anonymous on 1000 Points
I work with an apartment guide (publication targeted to consumers in the market to lease an apartment) and we are going to have a booth at a multi-family housing industry tradeshow that will be attended by advertising decision makers for local apartment complexes/management companies. The theme of the tradeshow is Mardi Gras...so all of the vendor booths will have a New Orleans/Mardi Gras theme.

One idea being considered for our booth (10' x 10') is a "Riverboat Casino"...with a blackjack dealer and a few slot machines...with a tagline on the "swag" (stuff we all get...i.e. pens, koozies, whatever...) we give out like "Don't Gamble with your advertising dollars...Get on board with Our Magazine"

3 Part question:

1. Please help with ideas for "swag" that we can give out that would fit with the riverboat gambling theme.

2. Suggestions for the "tagline" would be much appreciated.

3. Any other ideas on how we can create an attractive booth that prospects remember would be mucho appreciated.

    Hello:

Just brainstorming here with ideas for a "swag":
    1. Water Bottles (either empty or filled with tagline and company info on it)
    2. Coins (candy or toy) that visitors can use to gamble with
    3. A bracelet (with tagline & company info) acting as a ticket to get in
    4. Beads with a whistle or a tag that you can put your printed info on
    5. A flashing pin that you wear

Remember: what ever you decide to give away, be sure to get visitor's info in exchange.

    Ideas for attraction:
    1. A little Mardi Gras music that can be heard only in booth.
    2. Have a colorful ticket-taker standing by to invite booth guests in by giving them a bracelet, a ticket, beads, whatever you decide to give away.
    3. Have everyone working in booth "in costume" (but still looking professional) wearing some kind of cruise director or riverboat shirts but with maybe a Mardi Gras hat or tiara and a name badge.
    4. At the gambling table, have visitors place bets on the best advertising ideas for various types of companies that involve your magazine.

Just a few ideas that might help you expand on.
Good Luck and sounds like fun!

    Hi Flash,

    Thoughts for SWAG:

I've said this time and time again, but when you are looking for promotional type products, contact an experienced professional supplier who does it for a living.

They know everything that is available, and there are millions of products, and they know what is cool and hot and coveted to make people swarm your booth along with fitting your budget and all the other good stuff.

They also have tons of great ideas about how to make your booth the one people remember and go to.

A good source to check out is www.corporatechoicepromotions.com

    I hope that helps.

What a fun idea! You are going to have a great time.

I have some suggestions about the "swag." When we select tchotchkes we try to find something that people like to keep with them and use. If you can come up with something nifty and unique you can keep your name in front of them. I have a key chain with a tape measure on it that is handy.

If these are the same people that show appartments, a premium prize might be a foot massager.

It's fun and fine to have beads for the kids, but the kids don't buy advertising. The primary job of the beads would be to promote your booth at the show.

If you can't find something useful, find a conversation piece. Years ago I received a pair of spherical dice at a trade show, and they worked! That was a great source of entertainment for some time.
