Some 63% of Americans say they use Reddit as a search engine regularly, according to recent research from Adobe Express.

The report was based on data from a survey of 1,012 people in the United States.

Younger Americans are much more likely to turn to Reddit when they want to search compared with older Americans, the researchers found. For example, some 84% of Gen Z respondents say they regularly use Reddit as a search engine compared with 32% of Baby Boomer respondents.

Tech, news, and personal finance are the most popular search categories on Reddit.

People say the top reasons they use Reddit as a search engine are to get authentic product/service reviews and to get a diversity of opinions.

A larger share of respondents say Reddit is more trustworthy than Google (58% vs. 42%). However, more respondents say Google is a better search engine than Reddit (59% vs. 41%).

About the research: The report was based on data from a survey of 1,012 people in the United States.
