How Do You Write An Effective "new Product" Profile?

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hello,

Thank you for this opportunity to ask this question... I have been tasked with writing new product profiles for packaged food goods that will be published in the "What's New" sections of various retailer-targeted magazines. Typically, these profiles cannot exceed 50 words and are accompanied with a product image. I'd like to know the best way to title these new product profiles and what to key on in the text body to persuade store managers to order our products.

I'm a new member here and quite excited to be a part of this terrific resource.

Thank you, everyone,

The best way to title them would probably be to key on the primary benefit or differentiator of each product. Often this copy will appear right on the packaging, an ad, brochure or?

    Good luck

Well, I do this for a living. You can either hire someone who knows what they are doing to write the copy for you, or read the articles and tutorials on this site along with studying the example of other product's blurbs.

I would recommend checking out Specialty Retail Report magazine. They are the "Bible" for retailers (over 300,000 retailers use them as a resource for new products and reviews).

If you require any further assistance, feel free to send me an email just click on my name).

    Good Luck!
