Slogan For Veterinary Hospital Website & Banner

Posted by perryvillepet on 125 Points
We are a small animal hospital (dogs & cats only) that is starting to participate in more community events. We are also improving our Facebook & webpage. We are trying to create a slogan that depicts our passion for animals and their care. A 1-liner that we can add to our newly designed banner and our social medial would be great. We've been using "we care for you pets as if they are our own" but think that is unoriginal. Something along those lines would be great, but more unique. "Not just a pet, they are family," is another one that is used frequently with other hospitals. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

What's the name of your animal hospital? Where?

One of the problems with this kind of request is that you have not told us WHY someone in your target audience should choose you over your competition. What makes you unique? How are you different from, and better than, other small animal hospitals? What unique benefit do you offer?

Simply saying you care about pets is hardly unique, regardless of the clever words you might use. Let's deal with the substance of what you're trying to communicate and not just the semantics. Start with the Positioning Statement. (See https://bit.ly/1lP6864 ) What really makes you unique? Why should someone trust their pet(s) to you and not some other vet?

    A few thoughts:

    1. It's not really clear why/how a tagline would benefit you. "Perryville Pet Hospital" is pretty clear.

    2. One thing that strikes me as distinctive about you is the Rockford heritage you all seem to have. Perhaps some reference to "Healthy Furry Friends in Rockford" or "Caring For Rockford's Furry Friends" would let you inject the friendly, caring idea and appeal to locals.

Thank you for your feedback. Any insights are appreciated, as I have little marketing knowledge. But for now, I'm the one trying to make some changes.
We are unique in that we offer higher quality medical care than some other local clinics. We have standards of care that do end up costing the client a little more, but we feel our medicine must maintain a minimum level of care. Of course, all that is not something we can put on a banner or it would upset our colleagues. We build long term relationships with clients because people return for the life of their pet, and even with their new pets. We spend a lot of time with clients as doctors, compared to other clinics where doctors are in and out in a few minutes. We have a "comfort room" rather than an exam room for families that have lost their pet or are making the decision of euthanasia. One Doctor is the owner and built the clinic from scratch in 1995, and the other doctor began working as a kennel boy in 1997, went away for vet school, and is now returned to buy the clinic. The staff an client relationships are long term.
Those are my thoughts of how our clinic is unique in our minds.

The Rockford heritige is a good approach. We will think about all that. Love thebinput!
    Thanks!

How about simply, "Caring For Pets (and their Owners) Since 1995"?

If you can clarify how your "higher quality medical care" benefits the typical customer, that would help. Are their some specific skills/treatments that you excel at?

I'd think about having a contest where existing patients come up with your slogan. Getting them involve will help you better understand why they keep returning for the life of their pet. Higher quality medical care is great; but does that imply people who don't go to your hospital don't care as much about their pets? I hope not.

Give the contest a month; decide on the best three and then have customers select the winning slogan. The patient who wins the contest gets a free visit or shots for their pet or food of whatever.
