    questioner_quixote,

"This could be the last book you will read."

    or

"This book will be your last."

    Hope this helps.

No self respecting marketer would agree to pen anything resembling that, even with the grammatical corrections proffered. You’d never get any future business. If the statement turned out to be true, the publisher would go bust!

So, I’d set up a meeting with the publisher and offer some realistic advice, resulting in, “This could have been the last book you read – but wait until you see the sequel”

Then the lawyers would need to have an input due to the livelihoods the author is threatening.

“Notwithstanding any consequential damages resulting from any implied reluctance to read or attempts to read further written materials (Hereinafter referred to as “Books”) the publisher, on the first part has taken advice that further to reading the book which is the subject of this promotional material, the reader may experience a reluctance in future to continue the practice of reading such books and may find him or her self to be inhibited in the general part pertaining to books, but not necessarily magazines or pamphlets. This warning does not affect your statutory rights and may contain nuts”

    That should do it!

The sentence should be corrected to: "Do-it-yourself tips from Dr. Kevorkian: this could be the last book you will ever read".
