How To Market Our Online Retail Business?

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Hello readers,

My husband and I are opening our Online clothing business. We have a strategy and a plan in place however we are wondering how can we market our product in a way that it reaches the common mass and catches their attention. Additionally, this business is targeting people in a developing country where people are catching up to online methods however still prefer to feel and touch the product before buying. I think our biggest challenge is restriction of funds thus we really cannot hire models or create big banner's and market our product.

Please advise.

Well as they say content is king in internet marketing. Create new content (atleast 1 new page per week). Whether it is a blog, article, Press Release you need to be adding that content to your site every single week. Make sure that all of your pages are hefty with relavent text and have plentiful links. This strategy - a SEO strategy is the only thing which will ensure organic search results from google.

How about a simple guerrilla technique: get your clothing on the bodies of people in the target market, but have your label placed on the outside of the clothing, bigger than normal for all to see. Basically, walking billboards being in your target's meeting places (restaurants, bars, community meetings, plaza, etc.)

Have your online site sponsor a road/trunk show. Tell everyone where you'll be when, so they can see the clothing for themselves. Make the map clear, and drive traffic of "coming soon to a town near you". The offer to see the clothing needs to be strong enough to make them want to come: perhaps find a small band to perform and have the "models" show off the clothing (and of course, the band wears them too).
