Wording For Holiday Show Booth Signage

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
We're in the seasonings business (spices, sea salts, etc.), and our holiday show season is starting this weekend. These are retail shows but once in a while you get wholesale business too.

For our booth this year, I'd like to make signs that convey two messages:

1. it's cheaper to cook at home in this economy, so buy our products
2. we have several elegant gift sets under $50 (we have 3 for $35, 1 for $50, and they can customize anything they want which usually costs $35-40).

I'm struggling with coming up with wording for these. They have to:

1. Be short, like 1 phrase long (not even a full sentence)
2. Sound upscale to match our product lines
3. Be visible and catchy to bring someone in that just happens to be passing.

We will be printing black & white posters, around 18x24" each (or are open to other size suggestions). No graphics, just large text (any suggestions on all caps/initial caps, font, size?).

Of course I'd be very happy for any additional booth advice as well, and don't be afraid to tell me my approach is totally off!

Thanks,

Kit

Personally I'd go for graphics - a teaser b&w lingerie graphic with the words 'spice up your homelife' over the top.

    spicier nicier less pricier

    get hot at home

    home cooking just got tastier

from bland to grand - it's in the spice

take away some better home cooking

    More SPICE ... less price!

    SPICE it up!

    SPICE at the right price

    The SPICE of home life!

    Spice up your holidays ...

Dasher, (another D spice), Paprika and (V spice) ... [sorry, I couldn't think of spice names, but am sure there are some. This would definitely get people to stop and read.]

Even in a tough economy, there is room for spice in your life!

Home cooking never tasted this good!

Enticing aromas to save you from another boring dinner!

Agreed with the above suggestion for warm colors to imply the home cooked feel. I love using plants, sounds silly, but a little bit of life in the booth cuts the sterile, pre-portioned space feel of any trade show. Also, are you handing anything out? You could integrate whatever you are handing out into the home-cooked feel but using gingham table cloth prints, or something that would echo the warm booth colors....
