Gary Jesch

About me

  • Biography:
Known as the "Digital Puppeteer," Jesch has been a pioneer of performance animation since 1993. Performance animation, also known as live animation, is done using computer-generated cartoons and characters performed by an actor "behind the curtain" to attract attention to tradeshow exhibits and to entertain people at corporate special events and meetings.

Jesch, a native of the Reno/Tahoe area, debuted his first character Virtual Mark Twain at a Virtual Reality tradeshow in NYC in 1993. Since then, he has performed at venues around the world, and has recently built and installed permanent systems at family entertainment centers in the US and Manila, Philippines.

Examples of his videos can be located on YouTube by searching "gjesch" or CHOPS. CHOPS, the "Cyber Human On a Performance System," is his brand character and the name of his technology is the "Digital Puppeteer."
